This low profile strainer worked great for the aquarium sump tubes. The low profile keeps the strainer below the water level just enough to stop the gurgling, but not to far below where I have to worry about the sump over flowing if the pump fails.

This item worked awesome for me. I used it on some DIY Pond filters. It fit directly inside the bulkheads I bought from them. If I make anymore pond filters, I will definitely buy them again. The uses for this item for a pond is endless.

2 Slip Strainer

Shipped quickly, works great. Keeps my fish from entering my filter system. Fits into the coupler or elbow, etc. Would buy again.

Q: How do I know what size? Does the given measurement refer to the inside diameter of the pipe?

A: They are listed by the size pipe they are for. So this one should be used with 2" pvc pipe. PVC pipe is sold by it's inside dimension.

They are designed to fit into a standard slip bulkhead of the same size, you could also use a coupling, elbow or adapter.
